Interior Designers Baltimore Maryland - Sparks

Posted by Charlene Fountain on

Located on an expansive property in Sparks, Maryland, our client’s traditional country home needed some fresh updates to reflect her current taste. Furnished with beautiful antiques, the home was built over 50 years ago and decorated in a traditional style. Using existing furnishings, we recently worked with her to update with fabrics, wallpapers, and accessories.

The dining room has been updated with a lighter grass cloth wallpaper, geometric patterned roman shades and newly reupholstered dining room chairs and antique settee. New lamps and a botanical update the sideboard. Wallpaper: Thibaut; lamps: Chelsea House.

The breakfast room has been lightened up with a light green palette. The existing built-in wood bench was painted in a creamy white in keeping with the lighter theme. Newly upholstered bench cushions and pillows, and window valance treatments, along with a new chandelier over the breakfast room table, complete the transformation. Chandelier: Cyan Design. Window treatments and pillows throughout: Thibaut; Trina Turk Collection for Kravet; Trims: Schumacher; Samuel and Sons.

Our goal in the living room was to neutralize with lighter fabrics. The living room has been freshened up with new upholstery on a lounge chair and ottoman, newly recovered side chairs in the bay window, and custom sofa and chair pillows. The armchair and ottoman fabric is from Thibaut’s Kaleidoscope collection of Crypton Home indoor fabrics that combine performance attributes with sumptuous color and soft feel. More on this durable and stain resistant fabric in an upcoming blog. Bay window chairs geometric fabric: Candace Olsen for Kravet.
