Geraldine Butler
Geraldine Butler is a Maryland based artist whose work is inspired by nature. She is classically trained in landscape painting, but now works abstractly, and although her works have a strong connection to the landscape, they do not depict any specific places. Her paintings, which range from miniature 6 x 6 inch pieces to large scale canvases, 54 x 54 inches or larger, can be categorized as either abstract landscapes or patterns in nature. Geraldine received her BFA in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art and has a studio at the Historic Savage Mill in Savage, Maryland.
Geraldine also creates custom paintings. Her process for a commissioned piece involves getting to know the client’s aesthetic sensibilities in relation to the various styles she works in, as well as establishing a color palette to suit the client’s taste and particular needs for that project. Her commissions range from individual paintings to groups of multiples.
